School Registration

Registration for the 2025-2026 school year opens on March 1, 2025.

To enroll your student in South Portland Schools for the 2024-2025 school year please submit an Online Registration application

You can now also complete your online registration for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.

If you are applying for Pre-K and have not been selected from the lottery, please visit our Pre-K page for more information. If you have been selected from the Pre-K lottery, please submit the registration application with the school of your assignment. 

Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2025-2026 school year. Students who will be at least five years old on October 15, 2025 are eligible for enrollment. Please click here for more information.

Before you begin the online registration process, please gather the following information/documents. During online registration, you will be asked to attach documents to your application. To attach, you can take photos of documents and upload those photos when prompted. Lack of documentation will not stop you from online submission, but will be required prior to start of school.

 Required documents for registration:

  • Record of birth (example: birth certificate or passport)

  • Immunizations records (to be provided within 90 days of the start of attendance)

  • Proof of Residency - a document showing your current address (example: a signed lease, recent tax bill, a closing document for your residence, utility bill, owner's/renter's insurance certificate, or state assistance document) These should all be in digital form (PDF, JPEG, etc.) for upload.

If you are unable to upload the required documents, or have any questions about what types of documents are accepted, please submit the application as best you can and email the documents to registrations@spsdme.org

Required information for registration:

  • Household information - address and phone numbers, names of all members of the household (example: siblings)

  • Parent Information - work and cell phone numbers, email addresses

  • Student Information - demographics

  • Emergency Contact - addresses and phone numbers

Please note, when you begin the application, it will provide you with an application number. Please record that number in case you get logged out of the system, and need to finish your application.
