Hello Skillin Families!
Thank you for supporting your child on our remote snow day yesterday! Please make sure that your child returns their completed snow day packet to their teacher as their attendance for the day. We will be sending home new materials and activities soon in case we have another remote day.
Please remember to send your child to school with appropriate winter clothing - boots, snow pants, coat, hat, gloves/mittens. Children are NOT allowed to play in the snow without snow pants on. If you need help getting winter clothing, please contact Mrs. Holt at holtsha@spsdme.org. We do not “loan” winter gear to students if they forget to bring it from home. It is also helpful for students to have shoes to change into so they do have their boots on all day as well as an extra pair of socks to keep in their backpack.
Family Math and Literacy Night
Please join us for an evening of math and literacy fun on Thursday, March 9th from 5:00-6:15pm! This is a wonderful opportunity to see what your child is learning and get fun ideas for literacy and math games and activities you can do with your child at home. There will be activities throughout the school including grade level math and literacy activities and games, book bingo, a selfie station, and so much more!
This is a family event - all students must be accompanied by an adult.
There will be a bus to pick up families along Main St. and in Red Bank - more details to follow. The bus is for students to take with an adult.
Message from the Superintendent
Yesterday, Superintendent Matheney sent a message to families with information about the Elementary Boundaries and Configurations Steering Committee and opportunities for families to engage in this process through public forums and/or a survey.
Please consider attending a forum and/or completing the survey. It is important that all voices and neighborhoods in South Portland are represented and heard in this process and your perspective is important!
