South Portland School Department

Computer Science Education Week (December 9-13, 2024) invited guests from the tech industry and community, as well as students and staff, to host sessions at South Portland High School. About 763 students participated over the course of the week, where they learned about topics of the computer science field including: cyber security, digital graphics, digital citizenship, social media, careers, programming, scholarship, data science, AI, robotics, engineering, physical computing, ethics, repair, and STEM. Students from the SPHS CS Honor Society also led a community panel discussion about technology in schools and spoke at a statewide computer science summit in Portland!
