The Locker Project at SPMS's Family Dinner

From Courtney, South Portland Program Manager:

Our partners at South Portland Middle School are full of love for their students and committed to ensuring food access! Between their inviting us to every event and their putting a fridge in the school pantry for us to stock with produce for children, parents, social workers, and school staff, I am grateful for their dedication to Locker Project programs.

Most recently, I was invited to attend the Family Dinner and Dance night. More than 200 people had the opportunity to try different foods from different local vendors and enjoy a glow stick dance party. On their way out, they could fill bags with fresh produce from our table.

It is a joy to know that through our partnership, basic needs were met, and folks were shown they are worth the time and energy it takes to put on an event like this. I'm so proud to work alongside them!
