SPMS students present a donation check to Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland

Last semester, 5th grade JMG students at SPMS learned about entrepreneurship and all the aspects of starting their own business. A Colby College professor visited the classes to begin the brainstorming process for a business idea, and based on their consumer research, students discovered that many people in our community own pets. Students decided to create fleece cat toys and dog rope toys to sell for $5 each and accepted donations as well.

Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland presents to SPMS students

Last month, the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland (ARLGP) visited SPMS and spoke to the entire 5th grade class about their mission and how young people can be responsible pet owners. JMG students wrote speeches and presented the ARLGP with a giant check in the total of $559!
