Principal Lang visited classrooms this past week to read the book, Say Something, by Peggy Moss. She did this to spread the word that all students are empowered to be upstanders. This means that if they see or hear people being unkind or unsafe, they should say something. They could say something to the person being affected, or to the person being unkind or unsafe. In the lesson, students practiced the strategy of speaking out when they witness unkind words or behavior. This is all part of developing a school culture where everyone feels safe and respected.
