Monday, March 10th: 7th & 8th grade STEAM Train Club is cancelled today and swim practice is cancelled today due to an issue at the pool

The School Board is holding a meeting next week, Monday, March 10 at 6 p.m. in the Lecture Hall at South Portland High School. Superintendent Matheney will introduce the Proposed 2025-26 Budget at this meeting. Friday, March 7th: Today's volleyball match has been cancelled and there is no practice

Thursday, March 6th: Volleyball practice is cancelled today. 5/6 Creative Writing is cancelled today.

Last week, families attended the first Shark Team Learning Night at South Portland Middle School! 🦈 Families had the opportunity to connect with teachers and experience what students are learning in class. From playing math games to demonstrating lessons on iPads, families had a fun night engaging with their school community.

Wednesday, February 26th: Athletics Update - Volleyball will meet their coach at SPHS today as the SP Community Center gym is closed. There will be no volleyball practice tomorrow (2/27). Friday's match (2/28) is canceled and there will be practice instead.

South Portland Nutrition Service staff participated in hands-on training for fish fillet prep and cooking with Khadija Ahmed (Halal School Meals Network), Rob Dumas (UMaine), and GMRI 🐟 Staff enhanced foundational skills to cook with fish for school meals, including processing filets, working with less common fish species like red fish, monkfish, and dab, and its connection to Halal certified meals. At the end of the training, they got to enjoy the delicious meal they cooked together!

Monday, February 10th: 5th & 6th grade Civil Rights Team is postponed until mid-March.

The Board of Education meeting scheduled for Monday, February 10th is being postponed because not all members are able to attend. Because of the importance of agenda items we want to ensure full participation of the Board. The rescheduled meeting date will be shared early this week.

Update: All South Portland schools will be closed today - Thursday February 6, 2025 - due to weather.
